This outing is private co-navigation among guests and skipper, not a commercial passenger service. The amount is a contribution toward trip costs (fuel, berth, and running costs). Regulation (EU) No 1177/2010 on sea and inland waterway passenger rights does not apply to ships certified to carry up to 12 passengers (Art. 2(2)(a)). Directive 2009/45/EC on passenger-ship safety applies to ships carrying more than 12 passengers.
