Arcachon Boat Show Celebrates Ten Years: Between Tradition and Innovation
Arcachon Nautical Show: A Decade of Maritime Passion
A Meeting of Tradition and Modernity
This year’s show will host several exceptional sailing ships, including the Belem, which will carry the Olympic flame, the Belle Poule, a training ship of the French Navy, the Lys Noir, built in Arcachon in 1914, and the four Pen Duick yachts of Éric Tabarly.
To mark this anniversary, the mayor of Arcachon, Yves Foulon, emphasizes the importance of this event for the city:
This anniversary edition marks a decade of shared passion for the sea and its wonders. The Arcachon Nautical Show is now an unmissable event, where innovation, tradition, and conviviality come together to celebrate our exceptional maritime heritage.
He also insists on highlighting local expertise:
We are proud to showcase our shipyards, artisans, and professionals, true ambassadors of Arcachon’s know-how. These talented women and men perpetuate trades that bring our maritime identity to life while looking to the future with creativity and audacity.
A Showcase of Boating on the Arcachon Bay
The 2024 edition brought together nearly 65,000 visitors, with 187 exhibitors and 460 boats on display afloat and ashore. For 2025, the organizers expect around 67,000 visitors, with 200 exhibitors and 480 boats. Numerous activities will also be offered over more than 30,000 m2. This year, the exhibitors present on the Quai Goslar will represent both local shipyards and major national and international brands.
The director of the Nautical Show, Germain Stoldick, underlines the importance of this event for the nautical sector and for the local economy:
For four days, on April 18, 19, 20, and 21, the Port of Arcachon will be dressed in its festive attire to celebrate the best of the nautical sector, with the presence of numerous nautical professionals, local manufacturers, and major national and international nautical brands.
He also recalls that the show marks the launch of the summer season:
Open free of charge to everyone, the Arcachon Nautical Show, by promoting boating on the Arcachon Bay, remains an unmissable event. This event also kicks off the summer season in Arcachon and in our region!
A Program Rich in Activities
In addition to the numerous exhibitions, the show will offer several activities for young and old. Sailing baptisms, sea rescue demonstrations, skiffing competitions, and introductions to water sports will punctuate the four days of the event.
A notable novelty of this edition will be the 1st French University Beach Rowing Sprint Cup, a competition that will combine sprint on the beach and rowing race at sea. A dynamic and spectacular discipline, recently selected for the 2028 Olympic Games.
An Event That Evolves With Its Time
Ten years after its creation, the Arcachon Nautical Show continues to evolve. The 2025 edition will focus in particular on sustainable innovation, with stands dedicated to alternative energies and eco-responsible propulsion solutions.
“I therefore invite you to take advantage of this unique moment that is the Nautical Show and to experience together pleasant moments of sharing, discovery, and conviviality within this true place of life that is the Port of Arcachon,” concludes Germain Stoldick.
A call to discovery that should once again seduce visitors, loyal or passing through, who have come to share this passion for the sea and boating.
