Camilla Linder Elected as New President of Finansförbundet
Camilla Linder has been elected as the new president of Finansförbundet, succeeding Ulrika Boëthius, who is stepping down after 13 years in the role. The election took place during the Finansförbundet congress held on Tuesday and Wednesday.
“I am proud and honored to receive the trust to take over the presidential baton, and I very much look forward to collaborating with all the hard-working elected officials in Finansförbundet around Sweden,” says Camilla Linder, the new president of Finansförbundet.
Linder’s Background and Experience
Camilla Linder has worked as a private advisor at Swedbank since 1998. For the past ten years, she has served as the chairperson of Finansförbundet’s Swedbank group club. Since 2019, she has also held the position of second vice president on Finansförbundet’s board.
Boëthius Highlights Linder’s Strengths
Ulrika Boëthius, who is leaving her post after 13 years as president and 25 years on the Finansförbundet board, identifies several strengths in her successor.
“Camilla Linder has extensive experience in board work. As the former chairperson of Finansförbundet’s largest group club, she is accustomed to navigating a turbulent environment that affects the industry in many different ways,” says Ulrika Boëthius.
Key Challenges Facing the Financial Sector
During the congress, two statements were adopted. Finansförbundet will continue to focus on how the working environment of financial employees is affected by the increasing adoption of AI, artificial intelligence, and other high-tech working methods.
“For new technology to be used in a sustainable and responsible manner, employees must be involved in decisions when the technology is to be implemented,” says Camilla Linder.
The technological development is occurring alongside increasingly comprehensive and complex regulations. New requirements for documentation, compliance, and accountability are creating a growing workload. Finansförbundet sees significant challenges for the industry if the employee perspective is not considered when working conditions are fundamentally changed for financial employees.
Further Development of the “Finance Model”
The second statement focuses on the form of joint collaboration with the employer side. Since 2015, Finansförbundet and Finansarbetsgivarna have had a collective agreement without a specified end date, an arrangement that has become known as the “Finance Model” because it differs significantly from how the Swedish model works in other parts of the labor market.
“The indefinite agreement has benefited both parties in several areas. But for the Finance Model to continue to deliver, both parties must maintain their commitment,” says Camilla Linder.
