Epiroc consolidates its North American manufacturing of drilling tools.

Stockholm: Epiroc AB, a leading productivity and sustainability partner for the mining and infrastructure industries, will consolidate part of its manufacturing of drilling tools from Canada to Mexico to enhance efficiency. As a result, the manufacturing unit in Langley, Canada, will be closed.

Epiroc will move the production of tools for rotary drilling and raiseboring from Langley to its factory in Matehuala, Mexico, where rock drilling machines are currently produced. The relocation of production equipment from Canada to Mexico will commence in the third quarter of 2025, and the consolidation will be completed in the first quarter of 2027, when production in Langley will cease. Approximately 65 employees will be affected, and Epiroc will incur restructuring costs of approximately MSEK 70 (excluding tax effects) in the second quarter of 2025.

We regret the consequences this move will have for our valued colleagues in Langley. However, this action is necessary to improve our service levels to customers throughout the Americas, while keeping Epiroc strong and flexible for the future,” says Helena Hedblom, Epiroc’s President and CEO.

The consolidation will create better and more sustainable conditions for Epiroc to maintain and strengthen its presence throughout the Americas, without compromising product quality or availability,” says Martin Hjerpe, President of Epiroc’s Tools & Attachments division.

The operations to be moved belong to the Tools & Attachments division.
