Excess 11 Hybrid: A new era of sailing

Already well-established in the market for its agility and accessibility, the Excess 11 hybrid now features a propulsion system combining a generator set and two electric motors. This solution allows for flexible and silent operation, especially during port maneuvers or low-speed coastal navigation. Hybridization also optimizes the boat’s range, providing a complementary alternative to the conventional combustion engine.
Scheduled for summer 2025, this hybrid version is aimed at a new generation of boaters, sensitive to environmental issues but attached to comfort and ease of use. The promise is a more peaceful cruising experience, where the silence of electric propulsion enhances the pleasure of sailing.

Towards a broader hybridization in the range
The integration of this technology on a model like the Excess 11 hybrid demonstrates a desire to open access to technical solutions that have previously been scarce in this segment. This choice marks a form of concrete transition, without disruption, which favors a gradual adaptation of uses rather than a radical change.
In line with this approach, Excess also plans to equip its future model, the Excess 13, with this hybrid engine. The initiative confirms that innovation in propulsion systems is set to become a major focus of the brand’s development.
This evolution is part of a broader context in which boating is gradually redefining itself. Between ecological awareness, the search for onboard comfort, and new navigation practices, expectations are changing. Hybridization then appears as a technical response to these changes, without denying the fundamentals of pleasure at sea.
