Knut Hahn Upper Secondary School is Sweden’s best school for young entrepreneurs 2025
Knut Hahn High School Named UF School of the Year 2025
Knut Hahn High School from Ronneby has been named UF School of the Year 2025 and will receive the Visma Spcs award during the Swedish Championships in Young Enterprise (UF) in Stockholm. The school’s successful work in entrepreneurship and collaboration, in close dialogue with the business community, is particularly central to this year’s award.
This means an incredible amount; I am so incredibly proud, relieved, and grateful. It has been a long strategic effort, and now we are here, at the goal. UF is an incredibly good tool in teaching; you really see how the students grow every day, and it makes it possible to connect many courses to it. Besides, it is very fun to work together – we have really succeeded with that, says Emilia Jirle, Principal at Knut Hahn High School.
In recent years, youth entrepreneurship has continued to increase. During the 2024/2025 academic year, over 40,000 high school students have run UF companies around the country. Surveys show that 37% of young people between 18 and 29 want to become entrepreneurs. Statistics show that the number of young entrepreneurs who started new businesses in the first four months of the year has increased by over 27 percent compared to the same period in 2024.
In UF companies, five out of ten leaders are women, which is a significantly higher proportion than the average in the rest of the business community.
Giving students the opportunity to work with entrepreneurship during school hours has proven to be a crucial factor in strengthening young people’s ability to take initiative, collaborate, and develop ideas – skills that will be crucial in the future working life.
We at Visma Spcs see it as crucial that entrepreneurship becomes a natural part of the schooling for all high school students. By giving young people the chance to try entrepreneurship already during their studies, we prepare them for the future labor market and strengthen the foundation for Sweden’s long-term development and welfare, says Johan Lange, Brand Relations Lead and UF Manager at Visma Spcs.
The Visma Spcs award – UF School of the Year 2025 – was presented by Johan Lange and Hilda Netz. The prize consists of advertising time worth a quarter of a million kronor on TV4, in collaboration with the media agency Scream.
Jury’s Motivation
It is a pleasure to celebrate UF School of the Year 2025, a benchmark for innovation, entrepreneurship, and collaboration! Here, entrepreneurship and UF are truly at the heart of the operation. The teaching team and school management have together created a vibrant and cohesive strategy where entrepreneurial learning permeates everything, from scheduled UF time to inspiring projects that create joy and passion among the students.
With a strong focus on sustainability, international exchanges, and technology, the school addresses future challenges with an open mind and heart. The school’s collaborations with the business community and Young Enterprise are proof of how to build bridges between school and reality, where speed dating with advisors, exciting pitch opportunities, and events during the year reinforce learning.
