Lagoon Chooses Sunbrella to Enhance the Exteriors of the New EIGHTY 2

Sunbrella: Elevating Lagoon EIGHTY 2 with Bespoke Textile Solutions

Sunbrella has masterfully enhanced the Lagoon EIGHTY 2 catamaran with a complete and custom-designed arrangement of outdoor spaces. Through a sophisticated interplay of textures and subtle color palettes, Sunbrella’s textiles accentuate the beauty of the surrounding environment, enriching the overall voyage experience.

The fabrics draw inspiration from the vibrant hues of Polynesian lagoons, their lush vegetation, and emerald waters, all while meeting the rigorous demands of offshore navigation. Sunbrella fabrics are renowned for their exceptional resistance to UV rays, harsh weather conditions, and the wear and tear of time.

From Furniture to Seating: A Seamless Integration

Sunbrella fabrics elegantly adorn the furniture, genoa, cushions, and integrated seating areas. Whether bouclé or quilted, striped or heathered, the upholstery pays homage to the stunning island landscapes. Stripes, reminiscent of scales found in the depths of the sea, add rhythm and dimension to the backs of sofas and armchairs.

Depending on the angle of the sun, the seating subtly shifts in color, transitioning from a deep blue to a rich green. Other textile references, with their heathered gray texture and shade, evoke the rocky shores where one finds tranquility.

Sunbrella: Over 60 Years of French Expertise

For more than six decades, Sunbrella has provided comprehensive solutions for outfitting both the interiors and exteriors of boats, ensuring the protection of the crew and equipment. The brand continuously evolves, adapting to the latest trends and technological advancements.

The collections, designed and manufactured in France, are tailored to meet specific needs, whether for seating and cushions or for biminis, awnings, and protective covers. The wide variety of ranges allows for equipping all types of boats: semi-rigid boats, yachts, sailboats, and catamarans.

A Range for Every Need: From Sailboats to Motorboats

Sunbrella offers an impressive selection of over 200 textile references across 10 distinct ranges. Among these are specialized products such as the UV filter (SWK6 / SWK15), which allows natural light to penetrate while regulating brightness and filtering the sun’s heat.

The Furlink is designed to protect the genoa from UV rays during moorings, and for upholstery applications (armchairs, sofas, benches), the Horizon range is highly recommended. It combines the most demanding properties for nautical use: remarkable resistance to mold, pink bacterial stains, extreme temperatures, and fading. The range consists of two distinct textures: “Cappriccio” with a smooth leather look and “Sorrento” which has a textile effect. These are just a few examples from the 200 references offered.

Our Insights

On a boat, fabrics, whether indoors or outdoors, for comfort or protection, are exposed to salt, wind, sand, rain, humidity, etc., which no fabric, even high-end ones designed for terrestrial use, can withstand. Sunbrella has made this type of technical fabric its specialty.

Furthermore, for over 10 years, Sunbrella has been mindful of its ecological impact and has implemented concrete actions within the framework of the “Greenovation” program. Sunbrella considers the entire life cycle of its products, including water management, the use of green electricity and advanced equipment, and waste recycling. Across its two production plants, the brand annually recycles 280 tons of waste, a major portion of which is used to manufacture the recycled yarn that goes into producing the new Endless Stories collection.
