Mercury Marine and Lethiec: An alliance for performance
Mercury Marine Boosts Support for French Powerboat Racing
Mercury Marine is increasing its commitment to powerboat racing in France, focusing on technical support and promoting its range of high-performance engines.
A Distributor with Racing Expertise
Yannick Lethiec, leveraging his extensive experience in competitive racing, particularly offshore events, understands the demands of racing clients. He provides technical support and customer service, even traveling internationally to service V12 engines and Mercury Racing inboard motors. He offers a complete range of Mercury Racing products, including outboard motors (Racing and APX lines), inboard engines, spare parts, and accessories for inshore and offshore racing. Lethiec has recently updated his knowledge of inshore lower units and is now certified to service them. His access to Mercury Racing training in the United States ensures he stays current with the latest technologies, guaranteeing quality service.
Mercury’s Return to Racing
Yann Diquerreau, Marketing Manager at Mercury Marine France, explains the initiative’s objective: “This announcement follows Mercury’s return to competition in France last year. In 2024, we supported the French Formula 4 Championship events as a major partner, with events in Poses, Caen, and Chalon-sur-Saône. Having a dedicated technical and commercial representative in France to support competitors is a new step in promoting our expertise and showcasing our new range of APX outboard engines dedicated to competition, as well as the all-new 200R HD V6 for offshore competition. Our engines, designed for pleasure boating, sport fishing, and marine professionals, are also adapted and perfected for powerboat racing. For example, the 60 APX, designed for speed and endurance in Formula 4, is the L4 995 cc 40, 50, and 60 hp block offered to the general public. The 250 APX is derived from the V8 block used in the Verado, Pro XS, Racing, and SeaPro series, from 200 to 500 hp. Investing in and supporting powerboat racing demonstrates the performance and reliability of Mercury production engines.”
Yannick Lethiec’s Objective
Yannick Lethiec states: “We will collaborate closely with stakeholders in F1, F2, and F4 powerboat racing, including drivers, teams, and club presidents. To reduce delays, we will stock the new APX range engines in our showroom starting in February 2025. Furthermore, to maintain close contact with powerboat racing stakeholders, we will keep them informed of new developments, special offers, and more. Mercury Marine France wants to support powerboat racing and increase its visibility. Our company will represent Mercury Marine France and the Mercury Racing division, alongside the local Mercury dealer, at various stages of the French Championship, including the Mercury Marine Grand Prix in September in Caen, to provide technical support to drivers and teams.”
Continuous Training
Yann Le Fillastre, Sales Manager in southern France, emphasizes the importance of training and technical competence in gaining customer trust.
