Munters Secures Major Data Center Cooling Orders in the US
Munters, a global leader in energy-efficient air treatment and climate control solutions, has announced significant orders for its Data Center Technologies (DCT) business area. The orders, totaling approximately 2.1 billion SEK, are for Computer Room Air Handlers (CRAH units), cooling water distribution units (CDUs), and chillers. The customer is a colocation data center operator based in the United States.
Key Takeaways:
- Significant Order Value: The deal is worth approximately 2.1 billion SEK.
- Comprehensive Cooling Solutions: Munters will supply CRAH units, CDUs, and chillers.
- US Customer: The client is a major colocation data center operator in the United States.
- Extended Delivery Timeline: Deliveries are scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026 and continue through the first quarter of 2028.
These orders will be included in Munters’ order intake for the fourth quarter of 2025. The agreement encompasses all major components for the customer’s cooling water infrastructure, including customized CRAH units, CDUs, and Geoclima Circlemiser chillers, along with startup and commissioning services. Production will take place at Munters’ data center manufacturing facility in the United States, with deliveries to multiple data centers across the country.
“Our long-standing collaboration with this customer is built on their trust in Munters and our continuous technological development. In a very demanding environment, a commitment of this magnitude demonstrates the confidence customers have in our ability to scale up and compete,” says Klas Forsström, President and CEO of Munters.
Strategic Implications
The deal highlights Munters’ growing capabilities in providing complete cooling water systems. The acquisition of Geoclima has broadened Munters’ participation in the value chain, enabling the company to deliver comprehensive solutions that manage temperatures from server rooms to outdoor heat rejection.
“These orders clearly reflect the vision behind our acquisition of Geoclima – to broaden our participation in the value chain and be able to deliver complete cooling water systems to customers. The order includes units for both air and liquid cooling and covers the entire management of temperatures, from the server rooms to outdoor heat dissipation, through a combination of our own technology development and the technology that came with the acquisition. It shows our development to go from niche leadership to a broader technological leadership,” says Stefan Aspman, President DCT and Group Vice President at Munters.
