Nice Boating Tomorrow: Heading towards the nautical industry of the future in Nice

Nice to Host “Boating Tomorrow” Event Focused on Sustainable Nautical Practices

A new initiative aims to address the environmental transition by showcasing innovative solutions to reduce the ecological impact of the nautical sector. The event will feature next-generation boats, sustainable equipment, prototypes, sea trials, technical demonstrations, and awareness campaigns, all designed to advance discussions and support the evolution of boating.

Professionals, enthusiasts, and those simply curious are invited to an international forum featuring conferences, round tables, and meetings led by experts in the maritime sector and ecological transition. The event offers an opportunity to debate, share ideas, and collectively build the foundations for more responsible and sustainable boating practices.

A Strong Ambition Supported by Local Stakeholders

This new event aligns with international initiatives such as the United Nations Ocean Conference. It has the active support of the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis, the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolitan Tourist Office, and the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region, all of whom are eager to position Nice as a key player in maritime change.

The agreement formalizing the organization of Nice Boating Tomorrow was signed on May 30, 2024, in the presence of Christian Estrosi, Mayor of Nice and President of the Metropolis, and Alain Pochon, President of Grand Pavois Organisation (also the organizer of Grand Pavois La Rochelle since 1973).

The choice of Nice as the host city is deliberate. With a new Congress Center in the heart of the port, a strategic location on the Mediterranean coast, and strong local involvement in environmental issues, the city is well-suited to host a major event.

A Sector in Motion, A Collective Challenge

Like all industries, the nautical sector is at a crossroads. Reducing the carbon footprint involves not only navigation but also the entire life cycle of pleasure boats, from design to construction, from use to maintenance, and even deconstruction. Ports are also central to this transformation and must adapt their infrastructure to this new reality.

In France, the nautical sector represents a major economic force: more than 5,000 companies, 150,000 direct and indirect jobs, an export rate exceeding 70%, and internationally renowned brands. This dynamism makes boating a pillar of the blue economy and a driver for coastal regions, such as the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region.

Nice Boating Tomorrow aims to provide a unique platform to unite energies, share best practices, and pave the way for a new generation of boats, ports, and boaters. The event will take place in Nice from March 19 to 22, 2026, offering a chance to collectively imagine the future of boating.
