Porquerolles Welcomes the Schooner Tara

Stopover in Porquerolles: A Round Table on Marine Biodiversity

On June 2nd, the Tara Ocean Foundation, in partnership with the Carmignac Foundation, the French Fund for the Global Environment (FFEM), and the Port-Cros National Park, organized a round table entitled “Biodiversity Without Borders: Conserving and Acting in the High Seas, Challenges and Solutions” at the Villa Carmignac on the island of Porquerolles. International scientists and experts shared their experiences on the conservation of biodiversity in the high seas, addressing regions ranging from southern Chile to the Indian Ocean, passing through the Mediterranean.

Next Stop: Nice and the UNOC 2025

The schooner Tara will arrive in Nice on June 8, 2025, where it will be moored near the official blue zone of the conference. During the UNOC, Tara will host political working meetings on board, while the teams from the Tara Ocean Foundation will participate in the conference events.

The UNOC 2025, co-organized by France and Costa Rica, aims to mobilize the international community around the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal No. 14 (SDG 14), which concerns the conservation and sustainable use of the oceans, seas, and marine resources.
