Prestige M7: Luxury, Space, and Efficiency to Discover at the Cannes Yachting Festival
A Motor Catamaran Offering Volume, Privacy, and Performance
At the Düsseldorf boat show last January, Prestige Yachts unveiled the first of its 2025 novelties, the Prestige F4.3. This new model represents a “new entry point into the world of high-end yachting,” according to the French shipyard, which has built 5,000 units in its 35-year history. Visitors to the German show were able to see the unit firsthand.
But this novelty conceals another: during the press conference held during the same boat show, the shipyard announced a new motor catamaran in its M-Line range, the M7. This addition strengthens a range that already includes the M48, with a length of 15m and launched in 2022, and the M8, 20 meters long. The M7, with its hulls of almost 18 meters, thus fits between its two larger siblings, from which it borrows the codes: impressive volume, maximum privacy for guests, and the ability to go far in great comfort and with (almost) reasonable fuel consumption.
The living space on board the Prestige M7 is impressive, especially the real “terrace on the sea” at the stern!
Innovative Layouts
One of the advantages of a catamaran is the space it provides in a given size. In the case of the Prestige M7, a 58-foot (17.84 m) motor catamaran, it offers nearly 200 m2 of living space – between the interior and exterior. This is a living area that is usually found on monohull yachts of… 75 feet! But such available volume only makes sense if it is intelligently showcased. A successful bet for the Garroni Design studio, which manages to offer innovative and flexible interior layouts. The clearly stated objective is to maximize the flow of movement on board, to interconnect the boat/sea spaces. For example, you can directly access the interior from the port side deck via a side door and, from there, to the staircase that allows you to climb to the flybridge, which is therefore accessible from the inside and practically from the outside. Since we are on the flybridge, we will appreciate a complete and pleasant helm station as well as a huge solarium well protected by the wraparound windshields. As an option, it will be possible to choose an opening hardtop. This 35m2 space also offers a large table that can accommodate 8 people, and a fully equipped kitchen with a bar.
Inside, the designers wanted to give pride of place to light and the view of the sea…
On the main deck, you can enjoy 112m2 classically divided between the forward cockpit and its sunbeds that will delight the crew at anchor, the interior space with a large kitchen, a comfortable sofa and – optionally – an interior table that can accommodate, again, at least 8 people. The saloon is bathed in light thanks to generous windows and sliding glass doors, offering a panoramic view. At the rear, it is no longer a cockpit, but a real terrace that communicates directly with the sea. Sofa, sunbeds, table and hydraulic platform complete this essential space on board a luxurious boat.
Prestige Yachts has chosen… not to choose: The numerous options and the different layout configurations will allow each owner to create the boat of their dreams. The owner’s cabin (20m2) is located at the front with a panoramic view of the anchorage. Three other cabins of respectively 10, 8 and 6m2 complete the accommodation for guests. Given the skills required to operate and maintain a boat of this size, the shipyard has integrated a cabin for the crew (a second crew cabin is also possible as an option).
The 20m2 owner’s cabin is spacious and offers a breathtaking view of the anchorage.
And in Navigation?
It is a recognized fact: a catamaran hull consumes less – in the order of 30% – than its equivalent in a monohull of equivalent size. And if we compare equivalent volume, it is 40% less consumption at 21 knots according to the Prestige shipyard (25% savings at 17 knots). But it is at 8 knots that the 58-foot catamaran is remarkable: its announced consumption is then only 2 liters per mile. This gives the M7 a good (theoretical) range, at this very comfortable speed, of 1700 miles. To achieve this, you will have to choose the “long range package” which offers a higher fuel capacity (3400 l) and also larger gray water tanks.
Other options available: an interior helm station – very useful for travel and family navigation – and a package called “Silent Mode”, a solution to have all the comfort on board for 12 hours without emitting – or almost not – CO2 equivalent emissions. This pack consists of solar panels on the flybridge, hardtop and deck (2.6 kW), a larger Lithium battery bank, a 27 KVA generator and a more powerful converter (24V / 230V / 5Kw) and an increased capacity of hot water tanks.
The first public presentation of the Prestige M7 will take place at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2025 (from September 9 to 14).
