Riva Cento: A Modern Classic Redefining Open Yacht Luxury
The Riva Cento, a new open yacht, seamlessly blends Riva’s iconic aesthetic with a distinct personality. Its long, flowing lines, pronounced freeboard, and sporty allure are instantly recognizable as Riva signatures, yet it incorporates modern proportions. Measuring 11.88 meters in length and 3.50 meters in width, this yacht maintains an elegant form designed to combine performance and refinement.
Two hull colors have been selected for this limited series: a deep and sophisticated metallic black called Fireworks Black, and a lighter, more luminous aluminum gray. Inside, the ribbed leather upholstery, directly inspired by automotive design from the 1950s and 1960s, reinforces the connection between heritage and modernity.
Officina Italiana Design: The Visionaries Behind the Cento
Like all Riva creations for the past 30 years, the Cento is the result of the work of Officina Italiana Design, the studio founded by Mauro Micheli and Sergio Beretta. The project was developed in collaboration with the strategic product committee led by Piero Ferrari and the engineering teams of the Ferretti Group. This collaborative approach is evident in the overall balance of the boat, where every detail seems both aesthetic and functional.
A strong nod to the past is found on the flanks, with a new polished mahogany insert integrated into a steel profile, adorned with the Riva name and small stars, recalling historical models while affirming a contemporary signature.
Aft Deck: A Living Space on the Water
The stern of the Riva Cento is one of the most distinctive elements of the model. Thanks to an electro-hydraulic system, the rear door opens to reveal a true bathing platform integrating mahogany steps and two retractable sunbeds. This space quickly becomes a central location on board, dedicated to swimming and relaxation.
Specific storage spaces have been integrated under the deck, notably for fenders and a Seabob, while a retractable gangway integrated into the transom facilitates access. Underwater lighting completes the ensemble, providing both safety and enhancement of the boat in low light.
Cockpit: Modular Comfort at its Finest
At the center of the boat, the cockpit has been designed as a true outdoor lounge. A large U-shaped sofa surrounds a stainless steel table topped with a lacquered mahogany top, adjustable in height. In the low position, the whole transforms into a vast sunbed, naturally extending the relaxation space.
The cockpit can be protected by a retractable bimini, discreetly integrated into the backrest of the sofa. The optimization of storage is omnipresent, with modules concealing a refrigerator, cooler, sink, and worktop, without ever breaking the visual harmony of the deck.
At the helm, the Riva Cento features resolutely modern instrumentation. Two Boening screens of 15 and 24 inches centralize all information related to navigation, engines, mapping, and on-board systems. Piloting relies on a Volvo Penta joystick, associated with an electric bow thruster for great precision of maneuver. On the windshield, the emblematic projector inherited from the Aquarama and Aquariva discreetly recalls the history of the brand, reinforcing this permanent dialogue between innovation and heritage.
Below Deck: Luminous and Spacious Interiors
Below deck, the Riva Cento surprises with the feeling of space and light. The large side windows and the new front skydome flood the interior with natural light. The equipped kitchen is installed at the entrance, while the bathroom with separate shower is located opposite, optimizing circulation on board.
At the front, the sofa follows the shape of the hull and easily transforms into a double bed, allowing for nights on board in rare comfort for an open of this size.
Performance: Power and Stability
Powered by two 440 hp Volvo Penta D6 engines, the Riva Cento displays a maximum speed of 40 knots for a cruising speed of around 31 knots. Volvo Penta assistance systems automatically optimize trim and consumption, while the Seakeeper NG6 gyroscopic stabilizer, installed as standard, significantly improves comfort both in navigation and at anchor.
