Weenav Launches KRONOS, an Electric Outboard Motor Up to 300 Horsepower

Weenav Launches Kronos Electric Boat Motors: Power, Performance, and French Design

Weenav, a French company specializing in electric boat motors, has announced its Kronos range, designed for both recreational boaters and professionals. These motors offer a blend of power, reliability, and ease of installation, catering to those seeking to combine boating with sustainable energy.

Wide Range of Motors

The Kronos range is available from 80 to 300 horsepower and comes complete for easy installation, meeting a variety of needs.

Plug & Play Configuration

Each motor is delivered with a charger and a DC/DC converter, allowing for a rapid recharge from 20% to 90% in just 20 minutes. The batteries used are Zyonix by PowerTech Systems. The control and energy management system is co-developed with GARMIN.

French Design

Weenav is committed to developing silent, durable, and powerful solutions designed for both professionals and recreational boaters.

Battery Specifications

The batteries utilize Lithium Iron (LiFePO4) technology. Each battery module measures 485 x 296 x 230mm and weighs 49.5 kg, with a voltage of 53 volts. They are IP67 waterproof and can operate between -20°C and 60°C, with a charge cycle life (0 to 100%) of up to 6000 cycles. On a boat, the modules can be separated for better weight distribution. For example, the 200 horsepower motor, equipped with 26 modules, has a battery weight of 26 x 49.5 = 1287 kg, resulting in a total weight of 1638 kg with the motor.

Performance

On a Capelli Tempest 770 boat equipped with a 200 horsepower Kronos motor, the maximum speed is 35 knots with a range of 40 nautical miles. This boat is equipped with two series of 13 modules mounted in parallel to double the power, obtaining 140 kWh, for a total of 26 modules. The voltage obtained is 689 volts (13 x 53). It is important to remember that when connecting batteries in series, the voltages are added (13 x 53), while connecting in parallel doubles the power. In this case, the battery pack is 689 volts with a capacity of approximately 140 kWh.

Motor Range

The KRONOS range confirms Weenav’s ambition to offer powerful, reliable electric motors suitable for a wide variety of nautical uses. Designed and assembled in France, this outboard motor stands out for its advanced technology, promising performance, and simplified installation. It’s a new option to consider for those who want to combine boating and energy transition.
