California Metals and STILFOLD Partner to Redefine Future Mobility

A new force in sustainable innovation is emerging. California Metals, a leader in sustainable metal technologies, and STILFOLD, the Swedish design and technology company behind industrial origami manufacturing, are entering a joint venture within the Vinnova-funded Future Mobility program to redefine how we create the future of mobility.

The focus is on radically improving how raw materials are sourced and used. Since up to 70% of a product’s total CO₂ emissions can be traced back to the materials themselves, optimized supply chains and minimized material waste are crucial factors in reducing the industry’s climate footprint. By connecting design early on with low-impact materials and data-driven production, STILFOLD and California Metals aim to set a new standard for clean, circular industrial systems.

This collaboration integrates sustainable material sourcing with digital manufacturing in a digital twin – from raw metal to recyclable mobility solutions. At the heart is a powerful Digital Twin platform, developed to minimize emissions, eliminate waste, and reduce C02 emissions already in the design phase.
