The New MG HS Plug-In Hybrid: A Blend of British Design and Modern Technology
MG, a car brand with a history dating back to 1924, has always valued classic British design while focusing on modern smart technology and electrification in recent years.
While the company has launched several pure electric vehicles, their latest addition is a potent plug-in hybrid: the new MG HS Plug-In Hybrid.
This new SUV features a refreshed design and a new platform. Boasting an electric range of up to 100 kilometers (WLTP), it offers a total range of 1000 kilometers on a full charge and a full tank, making it ideal for both city driving and longer journeys.
“Incredible Driving Experience”
Nahir Besara, a key player for Hammarby football club, has been driving the new plug-in hybrid for several weeks and is highly satisfied. As a motor enthusiast and father of three, he knows what he’s talking about when he praises the car.
“The car is large, spacious, and the driving experience is incredibly enjoyable,” says Nahir.
The plug-in hybrid is designed with a focus on the driving experience, featuring carefully tuned suspension for a smooth and comfortable ride in all conditions. Significant effort has also been invested in sound insulation, resulting in a quiet and relaxing cabin experience for everyone in the car.
The car is also well-equipped as standard, with a spacious trunk and plenty of room in both the front and rear seats, something the Hammarby player appreciates.
“It’s great that all the kids fit, and there’s space for the stroller, groceries, football gear, and everything else. For a father of three like me, this car has it all,” he laughs.
The trunk of the new MG HS Plug-In Hybrid has a capacity of 507 liters. Additionally, there are 19 storage compartments in the cabin, including eight for rear passengers, ensuring that even small items can be stored smartly and practically.
“Spacious and Practical”
Many football players are car enthusiasts, and stars are often seen with their sports cars and other vehicles.
Do you like cars, Nahir?
“I used to be a car fanatic and liked Ferraris, Lamborghinis, and other sportier cars. Overall, I’m very interested in cars and have driven many different cars and follow Formula 1. A few years ago, I switched to driving electric, and I’ve never gone back since,” says Nahir.
But how does the MG compare to the cars you’ve driven?
“I’ve actually had a few cars from MG before. Most recently, I drove the MG4 Xpower, and it was a car that really flew. It was a fast, sporty car that was a lot of fun to drive. The new MG HS Plug-In Hybrid is a bit in the same vein, but so much more spacious and practical. The whole family fits here without any problems.”
“A Lot of Car for the Money”
The new MG HS Plug-In Hybrid delivers 272 horsepower, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds. The driver also has the option to customize their driving experience thanks to several driving modes, allowing them to enjoy both fast-paced moments and long, comfortable journeys. Additionally, the car is equipped with an advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS), 7 airbags, and a 360-degree camera for maximum protection and safety.
In terms of safety, the MG HS has received five stars from Euro NCAP, where the model excels in safety tests for both adults and children, and offers good features to protect vulnerable road users.
“There’s a lot of technology in the car and other smart solutions. It really feels like you get a lot of car for the money because it has all the luxury and technology you need,” says Nahir, adding:
“Even though it’s a combined electric/gasoline car, it feels like a real electric car – even when the gasoline engine takes over, and the battery really delivers on its promises. If it says the electricity should last for six miles, it really does. I have the option to charge at home, so after three weeks with the car, I haven’t had to refuel once,” says Nahir.
Smart Choice for Businesses
The new MG HS Plug-In Hybrid is not only a favorite among football stars – it also appeals to company car drivers who spend many hours in the car and want a pleasant driving experience.
Choosing a plug-in hybrid is good for both the company’s and the driver’s wallet – with low benefit values and the ability to make most trips on electricity.
MG has one of the market’s most favorable overall offers for company car drivers. The low purchase price and the comprehensive standard equipment mean that TCO – total cost of ownership – is very competitive for companies.
A benefit value of approximately 3,000 kronor means that with a monthly salary of 35,000 kronor, you will pay an extra 960 kronor in tax.
For a company car driver looking for a plug-in hybrid with a long electric range, low benefit value, and a high level of equipment as standard, the MG HS is the right car. With MG HS, companies can build a cost-effective fleet of high quality.
