Prestige Yachts Unveils the M7: A Motor Catamaran Redefining Luxury and Performance
Prestige Yachts has announced the M7, a new motor catamaran joining its M-Line. This addition complements the existing M48 (15m) launched in 2022 and the M8 (20m). The M7, with its nearly 18-meter hulls, fits between its siblings, embodying impressive volume, maximum privacy, and the ability to travel long distances in comfort with reasonable fuel consumption.
The M7 boasts impressive living space, particularly the “terrace on the sea” at the rear.
Innovative Design and Layout
One of the key advantages of a catamaran is the space it offers for its size. The Prestige M7, a 58-foot (17.84m) motor catamaran, provides nearly 200 square meters of living space, both inside and out. This is comparable to what you’d find on a 75-foot monohull yacht. The Garroni Design studio has successfully created innovative and flexible interior layouts. The design emphasizes fluid movement and seamless connection between the boat and the sea. For example, a side door provides direct access from the port side deck to the interior, and from there, to the flybridge, which is accessible from both inside and outside. The flybridge features a complete and comfortable helm station and a large sunbathing area protected by wraparound windscreens. An optional opening hardtop is available. This 35m2 space also includes a large table for 8 people and a fully equipped kitchen with a bar.
The interior design prioritizes light and sea views.
The main deck offers 112m2, divided between the forward cockpit with sunbeds, an interior space with a large kitchen, a comfortable sofa, and an optional interior table for at least 8 people. The saloon is filled with light thanks to large windows and sliding glass doors, offering panoramic views. The rear features a terrace that connects directly to the sea, complete with a sofa, sunbeds, a table, and a hydraulic platform.
Prestige Yachts offers numerous options and configurations, allowing owners to customize their boats. The owner’s cabin (20m2) is located at the front with panoramic views. Three additional cabins of 10, 8, and 6m2 accommodate guests. A crew cabin is included, with an optional second crew cabin available.
The 20m2 owner’s cabin is spacious and offers stunning views.
Performance and Efficiency
Catamaran hulls consume approximately 30% less fuel than equivalent-sized monohulls. Compared to equivalent volume, fuel consumption is reduced by 40% at 21 knots and 25% at 17 knots. At 8 knots, the 58-foot catamaran consumes only 2 liters per nautical mile, providing a theoretical range of 1700 nautical miles. This requires the “long range package,” which offers a larger fuel capacity (3400 l) and larger gray water tanks.
Other available options include an interior helm station and a “Silent Mode” package, providing 12 hours of onboard comfort with minimal CO2 emissions. This package includes solar panels on the flybridge, hardtop, and deck (2.6 kW), a larger lithium battery bank, a 27 KVA generator, a more powerful inverter (24V / 230V / 5Kw), and increased hot water tank capacity.
The Prestige M7 will be presented at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2025 (September 9-14).
