Quick Nautical Equipment and Mercury: A new step for maneuvering on board

Quick Nautical Equipment and Mercury Marine Integrate Systems

Quick Nautical Equipment (QNE) and Mercury Marine have officially announced the integration of QNE’s bow thrusters with Mercury Marine’s Joystick Piloting system. This compatibility, initially announced earlier in the year, has been effective since June 2025.

A gateway developed by Quick allows the brand’s PCS system to connect seamlessly with Mercury controls. This enables Mercury’s maneuvering joysticks to control QNE bow thrusters. The solution can also be retrofitted on existing equipment, provided the PCS system is present or added.

The integration relies on a new version of Quick’s NCG-T interface. This interface allows compatible Mercury control systems to manage QNE thrusters, including the BTQ range, as well as MSC and BT-QSY models, via the PCS system. A software update, available through the Mercury G3 tool, is required.

Compatible Mercury Marine Engines:

  • Verado V8, V10, and V12 with Joystick Piloting for outboards
  • MerCruiser 4.5L V6 and 6.2L V8 with Joystick Piloting for sterndrive
  • MerCruiser 8.2L V8 with Joystick Piloting for sterndrive
  • Diesel 3.0L with Joystick Piloting for sterndrive
  • Racing 520 with Joystick Piloting for sterndrive
  • L6 350/400 with Joystick Piloting for outboards
  • 400R, 450R, and 500R with Joystick Piloting for outboards

This development marks a significant advancement in the coordination between propulsion and maneuvering systems, offering smoother control onboard.

This partnership underscores Quick’s commitment to targeted technical collaborations, further solidifying its role in developing connected solutions for boaters.
