RaySearch and Radiology Oncology Systems Announce Strategic Partnership
RaySearch Laboratories AB and Radiology Oncology Systems, Inc. (ROS) are pleased to announce a strategic partnership to identify and explore opportunities around both new and existing technologies, with a focus on integrating pre-owned linear accelerators with advanced software solutions. The collaboration has already resulted in several agreements.
The purpose of the partnership is to jointly offer comprehensive solutions that broaden access to radiation therapy, while ensuring high-quality care and strengthening both parties’ market positions. Currently, many fully functional linear accelerators are routinely scrapped after 10 years, instead of being refurbished and used in centers lacking technology for cancer treatment. This stimulates the market for pre-owned radiation therapy equipment, contributing to circularity and extending the life cycle of linear accelerators – factors that promote sustainability in radiation therapy. For RaySearch, the partnership will help broaden the use of RayStation® and RayCare®.
Within the framework of the partnership, orders have already been received from two centers in Argentina, both equipped with Varian’s TrilogyTM linear accelerator, a center in the USA using TrueBeam® and RayStation, and a Mexican center that has Elekta Versa HD® and RayStation.
