Sunsail partners with the FFVoile to promote sailing.
Sunsail and the French Sailing Federation (FFVoile) Announce Partnership
Sunsail and the FFVoile are joining forces to promote sailing to a wider audience. The goal is to inspire a love for sailing, share the joys of cruising, and encourage more people to discover the pleasures of sailing.
Jean-Luc Denéchau, President of the French Sailing Federation, stated, “I am particularly pleased with this new collaboration. Sunsail and we share the same vision and ambition regarding the development of sailing cruises. For example, flotilla sailing, such as the ‘Rallye Nautique,’ offers a reassuring and friendly environment where everyone progresses and helps each other. Everything is in place for a thrilling experience that you’ll want to repeat!”
Simon Cross, President of Sunsail, added, “It is a real pleasure and a source of pride to bring this new partnership with the French Sailing Federation to life. We bring together communities of sea enthusiasts, and this collaboration is a natural fit.”
A Shared Vision Around Flotilla Sailing
Since 1974, Sunsail has been developing flotilla sailing, a simple and attractive concept that appeals to many boaters. Sailing together in a group, with remote assistance and a team spirit, allows you to discover the sea safely while creating bonds. This approach is also promoted by the FFVoile through the “Rallye Nautique,” offered in several of its clubs. This format combines progression, mutual support, and conviviality.
A More Responsible Cruise, Reflecting Tomorrow’s Commitments
Both partners share the same environmental standards. Sailing, yes, but while limiting its impact. Sunsail has already begun a concrete transition with the introduction of electric outboard motors, the replacement of conventional antifouling paints, the installation of water purifiers on board, and the use of biofuels. For its part, the FFVoile integrates these issues into the training of thousands of young sailors and raises awareness among clubs and organizers about more sustainable sailing. It is increasing prevention and support actions to reduce the effects of its activities on natural environments.
Another tangible aspect of this partnership is that FFVoile licensees now receive a 15% discount on Sunsail bareboat charters and flotilla cruises worldwide. This is an opportunity to sail aboard award-winning yachts with family or friends while taking advantage of an offer reserved for the federal community.
A Historical Link with the French Team
This is not Sunsail’s first commitment to the Federation. Between 2010 and 2016, the company was an Official Supplier of the French Sailing Team. This period was marked by French success, with four Olympic medals, one Paralympic medal, and twelve World Champion titles. Sunsail then mobilized to broaden the base of supporters, promote athletes, and increase the visibility of high-level sailing.
Today, Sunsail continues to rely on ambassadors from the FFVoile, emblematic figures of French sailing. Among them are Charline Picon, a three-time Olympic medalist in windsurfing, and Charlie Dalin, winner of the 2024-2025 Vendée Globe. Both share their passion with the Sunsail community through sailing stories, onboard videos, and valuable expertise. Their mission is to convey the spirit of adventure, the love of the sea, and the desire to set sail.
