Gran Turismo 35 and 40 Coupe: BENETEAU redefines the codes of the express cruiser crossover
Beneteau Unveils New Gran Turismo Models, Redefining Express Cruisers
Beneteau, a global leader in nautical construction, has revealed the first two models from its extensively revamped Gran Turismo range. The new Gran Turismo 35 Coupé and Gran Turismo 40 Coupé aim to revolutionize the express cruiser segment with a radically contemporary approach to design, ergonomics, and motorization.
“This isn’t just a facelift, but a true revolution,” says Éric LeVine, BENETEAU Motor Yachts Sales Director. “We’ve leveraged real-world data, the best architects and designers, while drawing on our 140-year history and the experience of our owners. This remarkable result sets new standards for comfortable, fast cruising.”
GT35: “Villa Living” in a Sporty Version
The Gran Turismo 35 Coupé, the first model in this new generation, stands out with its open design. It introduces the concept of “villa living,” with modular spaces dedicated to relaxation and leisure. Side terraces expand the rear space, while cockpit benches transform into a generous sunbed, enhancing the feeling of relaxation on board.
Driving is also central to the promise. The GT35 features ergonomic helm station, maneuverability, and a sporty look. As for motorization, the GT35 is equipped as standard with two Mercury Verado 300 HP outboards, powered by two 370-liter tanks. A more powerful version with Mercury Verado 350 HP is also available, while a GTS version is expected for 2026. It is expected to exceed 40 knots with ease.
GT40 Coupé: Freedom of Configuration and Refinement
The Gran Turismo 40 Coupé takes modularity and comfort even further. Available in inboard or outboard versions, it offers a rare freedom of choice in this segment. The cockpit, perfectly enclosed, becomes a true space for conviviality with face-to-face seating and a central bar. At the front, the sunbed transforms into a seat facing the sea.
The finish follows the same high standards. With an LED line integrated into the hull, advanced multimedia connectivity, and high-end finishes, the GT40 Coupé is positioned at the top of the market. It can be motorized with two Mercury Verado 400 HP (1,200-liter tank) in the outboard version, or with two Yanmar 8LV 320 HP (805-liter tank) in the inboard version. In terms of pure performance, the Yanmar version reaches 32 knots, compared to over 35 for the Verado version.
“The GT35 and GT40 Coupé offer an outdoor experience totally focused on well-being,” confirms Robert Chaffer, BENETEAU Product Manager. “The new ‘Gran Turismo’ philosophy is inspired by Kanso simplicity to create soothing interiors, while the streamlined design embodies Yugen elegance. We wanted to create the ultimate crossover express cruiser.”
The Alpine Partnership: An Exclusive Aesthetic Signature
In collaboration with the Alpine brand, BENETEAU offers a unique aesthetic signature on these new models. The Signal Gray hull is combined with elegant black elements on the engine covers, door handles, handrails, cleats, and cockpit (equipped with a limited-edition plate). Inside, touches of navy blue adorn furniture, upholstery, and embroidery, for a refined atmosphere that is both sporty and luxurious. This attention to detail is appealing both while sailing and at the dock.
Global Launch in Cannes
The Gran Turismo 35 Coupé and 40 Coupé will be unveiled in a world premiere at the Yachting Festival de Cannes in September 2025. Exclusive trials are also scheduled in Antibes on August 29 and 30.
BENETEAU confirms its vocation: to design remarkable boats, bringing enthusiasts together around a unique sea experience, embodied by 8 ranges and more than 30 models that are now a reference.
