Open AI launches Chat GPT 5
OpenAI Launches GPT-5, the Latest Version of ChatGPT
After months of anticipation, OpenAI has released its fifth and most advanced language model, ChatGPT-5. The launch occurred on Thursday evening, Swedish time.
The new version is available in both a free and a paid subscription model.
According to CEO Sam Altman, this model is the “best in the world” and represents a significant leap forward, making something similar “almost unthinkable” previously.
Key Features of ChatGPT-5:
According to the language model itself, here are some of the new features:
- ChatGPT-5 combines the deep reasoning capabilities of OpenAI’s O-series with the speed of the GPT series in a single response.
- It can independently determine whether to generate quick or more thoughtful answers without user input.
- Beyond generating answers, GPT-5 can generate software, manage calendars, and create research reports.
- Users can choose from profiles like “Cynic,” “Robot,” “Listener,” and “Nerd” to automatically adjust ChatGPT’s response style.
- The new version is reportedly less prone to inaccuracies or fabricated information (hallucinations) compared to previous models.
- GPT-5 expresses itself more directly and confidently, avoiding excessive agreement or reassurance about the quality of the user’s question.
- It offers more accurate and proactive handling of medical information and warnings.
- GPT-5 provides more natural and higher-quality responses in creative design and writing tasks.
Users who pay $200, gain access to an even more powerful version, which includes extra computing resources for enhanced responses.
GPT-5 is also being integrated into Microsoft products, including Microsoft 365 Copilot and Azure AI Foundry, according to a statement from Microsoft.
OpenAI announced earlier this week that it is approaching 700 million weekly active users, up from 500 million in March. OpenAI has approximately 5 million paying subscribers.
