Prestige M7 Review: The Art of Luxury in a Multihull
Prestige M7: A Harmonious and Imposing Design
Measuring under 18 meters in length and less than 8 meters in width, the Prestige M7 immediately impresses with its silhouette. Unlike some motor catamarans, its lines are elegant, taut, and almost discreet, featuring a dynamic sheerline and seamlessly integrated glazing. This manageable size also keeps it below the symbolic 20-meter mark, a significant advantage for unrestricted anchoring in the Mediterranean, respecting protected areas. It offers the living space of a 75-foot monohull, with enhanced stability and usable volume across its entire width.
Navigation: Stability, Comfort, and Assistance Technologies
From the moment the propellers turn, the M7 reveals reassuring seaworthiness. Thanks to its twin hulls, it maintains exemplary stability, even at high speeds. The catamaran handles swells without significant rolling, greatly enhancing onboard comfort. With a cruising speed of around 15 knots and a maximum speed of approximately 22 knots, it strikes a good balance between efficiency and enjoyment. In the long-range version, the range can reach approximately 1400 nautical miles, compared to about 1200 in the standard version, allowing for stress-free long voyages. The onboard watermaker and large fuel capacity also ensure sufficient autonomy for extended cruises. Compared to a 75-foot monohull, fuel consumption is reduced by about 30%, a significant advantage in the current climate.
Navigation assistance features include large screens on the flybridge, providing comprehensive visibility of all navigation parameters. The reversing camera, similar to that in a car, simplifies maneuvers, as does the remote control station on the starboard side, which allows for precise docking. The hydraulic gangway also serves as a swim ladder, facilitating boarding from the dock or swimming. However, it can move slightly, although it is secured by effective handrails.
Interior Comfort: Like Home
The M7 also surprises with its interior volume. The spacious salon, furnished with a large sofa and coffee table, benefits from nearly 360° views through windows around the perimeter. Natural light floods the space, enhancing the sense of openness. The layout prioritizes comfort and circulation, with a discreet but well-equipped helm station set back.
The owner’s suite, spanning over 25 m2, extends from the main deck across the entire width of the boat. A true haven worthy of a palace, it impresses with its refined finishes, two dressing rooms, a large bathroom, and a central bed facing the sea, all bathed in natural light through large openings. Two spacious VIP cabins are located at the ends of each hull, each with a beautiful view of the horizon and a private bathroom. A fourth cabin, luxurious and configured as a twin, also offers a good level of comfort. At the rear, a crew cabin includes two reasonably sized bunk beds, while a smaller second cabin, often used for storage, can accommodate water toys or other equipment.
A Typical Day Onboard: Luxury and Freedom
Imagine an ideal family day aboard the M7. For a dream getaway, this exceptional catamaran becomes more than just a boat: a living space in its own right, where every moment is created between refined comfort and newfound freedom.
At anchor, the bay window opens onto a sun-drenched rear terrace. You can settle in for a gentle breakfast, as a natural extension of the living room. The warm teak under your feet, the hydraulic platform touched by the reflections of the sun… You can already imagine the children sliding into the water or launching water toys while time stretches slowly.
At lunchtime, you climb to the flybridge. Accessible by the port staircase, this large elevated terrace is like a rooftop at sea: sun deck, generous dining area, equipped summer kitchen… You can imagine enjoying grilled food with friends, protected under the rigid opening roof, while enjoying a 360° view of the surroundings. This space quickly becomes the living heart of the M7, between relaxation and conviviality.
For a nap or a more peaceful moment, you can be tempted by the front beach, dug between the two hulls. With its modular mattresses and generous seating, it offers a real haven sheltered from the wind, where you can read, chat or simply isolate yourself for a moment, in the shade of a deployed canvas.
At the end of the day, while the children have fun teasing the fish from the rear platform, the adults share an aperitif facing the setting sun. And why not extend this moment until the end of the night? Thanks to its solar panels, the M7 offers comfortable autonomy without a generator, ensuring a peaceful night on board – air conditioning included.
The Prestige M7 stands out as a unit designed for living on board, whether for a weekend or a long cruise. It impresses with its stability, autonomy, quality of finishes and fluid layout. A well-developed motor catamaran, designed in every detail for demanding boaters.
What We Liked:
- Remarkable stability when sailing and at anchor
- Three distinct and well-arranged outdoor spaces
- High autonomy thanks to the long-range version, watermaker and solar panels
What We Liked Less:
- Cramped crew cabin
- No active stabilizer (but compensated for by the natural stability of the catamaran)
- The gangway lacks stability when boarding
