BENETEAU First 30
Unveiled at the Düsseldorf boat show last January, the First 30 (the 3rd of its name) is designed by architect Samuel Manuard. Its credo: “the pleasure of gliding, exceptional maneuverability, safety, and cruising comfort.” And it works: initial tests have shown that the monohull planes in less than 15 knots of wind. The strength of the new First 30 is the ease with which it reaches double-digit speeds without needing a crew of pros on board. And as a bonus, the First 30 can comfortably accommodate a crew of four.

- Length: 9.35 m
- Width: 2.95 m
- Engine: 14 hp
- Draft: 1.98 m

Mojito 32
The first two hulls of the Mojito 32 are currently being finished. No. 1 is a racing-oriented boat, while No. 2 is more cruising-focused with a program for a tour of the Atlantic. This fast boat, capable of planing very early on reaching or downwind, features a “scow” bow, a specialty of its architect David Raison, a hull that has proven its effectiveness in numerous races. The advantages are numerous: increased power, speed, and living space, as well as better stability under sail.

With the Leopard 46, the South African shipyard has designed a comfortable unit without sacrificing performance. The very large opening between the saloon and the cockpit is appreciated in order to fully enjoy all the space when the weather is favorable and to be well protected if needed. The classic front door, one of the shipyard’s signatures, is obviously present, with direct access from the interior to the forward cockpit. Available in versions from three to five cabins and with classic diesel or electric hybrid engines.

The number 1 of the series (five other 490s are on order) will be presented in a world premiere and has the particularity of being equipped with an electric motor powered by 1,600 W of solar panels and a generator. Performing, robust, and comfortable, the OVNI 490 is particularly suitable for offshore sailing off the beaten track.

Weight savings on the construction with 500 kg gained, inverted bows, optimized hull, elongated waterline as well as daggerboards, new rudders, and of course racing rigging and sails boost performance compared to the “Adventure” or “Yachting” versions already known to be very fast.

The Outremer 48 was designed to combine comfort and performance in an optimized length of 48 feet compared to the 45 it replaces in the manufacturer’s range. The possible customization of the layouts is impressive with no less than 10 different versions, in order to meet all the requests of the owners. This 48 features the very successful helm station of the 52 and 55 equipped with the now famous adaptable steering wheel in four different positions according to the needs of the moment and the weather. The new architectural signature (Marc Lombard Yacht Design) does not change the fundamentals of Excess: the Excess 13 is a comfortable boat for life on board AND fun to steer! The catamaran (available in three or four cabins) manages to maximize the available space. Kudos to the tilting skirts designed by the shipyard which are both safe in the closed position while sailing and open at anchor. The two helm stations located at the rear of the floats and the interesting weight/sail area ratio are also appreciated.
