OVNI 490: Designed to Go Far

The OVNI 490: Designed for Long-Distance Cruising

The OVNI 490 stands out with its pilothouse, capable of accommodating two to three people on watch, a valuable asset for offshore navigation. The panoramic roof and raised saloon offer enhanced visibility, even when seated.

On deck, the well-protected and spacious cockpit is equipped with two steering positions at the rear. The centerboard is manually controlled from the cockpit via a winch, ensuring simplicity and reliability. The OVNI 490 comes standard with a twin Volvo 50 hp in-line shaft engine, offering improved maneuverability.

Comfortable Interior Design

Inside, the layout is optimized for long voyages. The owner’s cabin, located at the front, features a bed offset to port, ample storage, and a bathroom with a separate shower. At the rear, there are two cabins, one with a bed that can be configured as a double or bunk. A second bathroom is located to starboard.

The living area includes a modern and functional kitchen, as well as a passageway offering practical storage for a washing machine, freezer, and oilskin locker. Under the cockpit, a large-capacity technical hold is accessible from both the exterior and interior. Another hold, dedicated to sails, has a watertight access from the saloon and deck.

Electric Version: A World First

This first OVNI 490 adopts a BellMarine electric motor, with two 20 kW in-line shaft motors. Its autonomy is enhanced by a lithium battery pack (50 kW in 48 V), over 1,600 W of solar panels, and a 22 kW generator. This configuration allows for quieter navigation and limits environmental impact. The sailboat is also designed to eliminate gas on board, with an all-electric kitchen.

The OVNI 490 will be visible by appointment at the ALUBAT shipyard between June and July 2025, before being officially presented at the Grand Pavois boat show. A model designed for sailors seeking a robust, well-equipped sailboat adapted to offshore navigation.
