Schneider Electric and NVIDIA Accelerate Collaboration to Develop Europe’s AI Factories
Schneider Electric and NVIDIA Partner to Advance AI Infrastructure in Europe
Schneider Electric and NVIDIA have announced a strategic partnership focused on AI infrastructure, launching joint R&D initiatives for data center solutions in cooling, power supply, building automation, and control systems. This collaboration aligns with the EU’s ambitions for AI infrastructure and supports the European Commission’s “AI Continent Plan Action” and the InvestAI initiative.
The research and development initiatives will accelerate the development of next-generation AI factories in Europe. By providing solutions in power supply, cooling, control systems, and high-density racks, the companies aim to meet the growing demand for sustainable and AI-ready infrastructure.
This global partnership unites leaders in sustainability and accelerated computing to support the EU’s AI infrastructure efforts and the “InvestAI” initiative, which seeks to unlock €200 billion in AI investments.
Leveraging their expertise in AI-ready infrastructure, sustainability, and grid coordination, Schneider Electric and NVIDIA are jointly responding to the European Commission’s “AI Continent Action Plan,” which aims to establish at least 13 AI factories and up to five AI gigafactories in Europe.
“Schneider Electric and NVIDIA are more than just partners. Our teams are driving advanced R&D, co-developing the infrastructure needed to power the next wave of AI factories globally. Together, we have already achieved significant success in implementing next-generation power and liquid cooling solutions tailored for AI data centers. This strategic partnership enables us to further accelerate development and push the boundaries of tomorrow’s AI workloads,” says Olivier Blum, CEO of Schneider Electric.
“AI is the defining technology of our time and the most transformative force reshaping our world. Together with Schneider Electric, we are building AI factories: the essential infrastructure that brings AI to every enterprise, industry, and society,” says Jensen Huang, Founder and CEO of NVIDIA.
New Infrastructure Solutions
Schneider Electric is launching a suite of AI-ready data center solutions, including new EcoStruxure™ Pod and rack solutions. The scalable EcoStruxure Pod Data Center features a modular architecture designed to accelerate AI deployment and enable rapid deployment of large-scale data centers.
A new rack system, inspired by the Open Compute Project (OCP), has also been developed to support the NVIDIA GB200 NVL72 platform, based on the NVIDIA MGX modular architecture. This integration marks Schneider Electric’s entry into both the NVIDIA HGX and MGX ecosystems.
Digital Twin Technology
The partnership builds on previous milestones, including the launch of the world’s first digital twin for electrical and large-scale power systems in AI factories, using NVIDIA Omniverse Blueprint, developed by Schneider Electric and ETAP.
Liquid-Cooled Infrastructure
Schneider Electric and NVIDIA have jointly developed a series of reference designs for fully electrical and liquid-cooled infrastructure, with Schneider Electric being an approved supplier of Cooling Distribution Units (CDU) for NVIDIA. Many of these solutions incorporate liquid cooling solutions from Motivair’s portfolio, following Schneider Electric’s acquisition of the company.
Through this expanded strategic partnership, Schneider Electric and NVIDIA will continue to accelerate their infrastructure investments, expediting the launch of new products and reference designs to build the AI factories of the future.
