Salesforce Unveils AI Agents Platform in Paris

Stars are projected onto the wall and Pharrell Williams’ “Happy” blasts at full volume as visitors, badges around their necks, begin to take their seats in the vast hall. At the center, two mascots, one bearing the likeness of Albert Einstein, undoubtedly foreshadowing brilliant ideas, dance under the flashes to warm up the room. On May 22nd, at the Parc des Expositions at the Porte de Versailles in Paris, Salesforce, on a global tour, is putting on its American-style show. The leaders of the customer relationship software giant are unveiling an “AI agents” platform, which the group is already marketing, to an audience of clients and partners.

These agents are super-software, seemingly straight out of old science fiction classics. Unlike chatbots (conversational agents), where the human is always “at the helm” – you ask a question and the chatbot answers – AI agents are able to perform a series of tasks, increasingly complex, autonomously, with little or no human supervision. In the field of recruitment, they can, for example, publish job offers, compile resumes, send personalized reminders to candidates, and schedule appointments. Enough to make ChatGPT and the like, barely adopted by employees to write their emails or prepare their meetings, obsolete in moments.
