YOT 53: A new vision of the power catamaran

Introducing the YOT 53: A New Vision for Motor Yachting

Following the YOT 36 and 41, this new model represents a deliberate step up in quality, a boat designed from the outset to meet the expectations of experienced owners. Larger, more versatile, and more livable, the YOT 53 embodies a clear vision: navigating on two hulls with the comfort of a motor yacht.

Designed by JNJ Design in collaboration with the group’s design office, the YOT 53 is aimed at those seeking space, stability, and a seamless connection with the sea. Thanks to its catamaran configuration, it offers 40% more living space than an equivalent monohull, while maintaining a size compatible with Mediterranean ports. The double hull also significantly reduces fuel consumption during navigation, providing a smoother ride in choppy seas.

An Architecture Focused on Life Onboard

The boat is structured around distinct but connected living areas. At the rear, a large tilting door, inspired by Bali models, allows the cockpit to be fully opened to the outside. This configuration removes partitions and creates a large open-air lounge, directly connected to the interior. At the front of the nacelle, a U-shaped kitchen has been integrated, freeing up the rear area while promoting conviviality on board – a layout still rare in the world of power catamarans.

The ergonomics have been carefully considered down to the smallest detail, including the owner’s cabin, located at the front across the entire width of the boat. King-size bed, dressing room, full bathroom, sofa, office area, separate toilet: everything is there, in a bright environment largely open to the outside. This suite provides direct access to a private terrace, a true space for relaxation, designed for quiet moments as well as sunbathing, yoga, or a drink while watching the sunset. This forward cockpit offers excellent light and welcome natural ventilation, without sacrificing the owner’s privacy.

A Multifunctional Flybridge and Modular Exteriors

The YOT 53 incorporates a spacious flybridge, designed as a living space in its own right. In addition to the helm station, there is a large forward-facing bench seat, a U-shaped dining area for eight guests, an equipped kitchenette (grill, refrigerator, storage), sunbeds for six people, and an integrated hard top that protects the entire area without distorting the boat’s silhouette. The layout has been designed to allow several groups to coexist on board without disturbing each other, from sunrise to sunset.

At the rear, the side bathing platforms, modular furniture, and retractable sunbeds further enhance the openness to the sea. A hydraulic platform, which can be transformed into a swimming area or a balcony, also facilitates the launching of a tender or underwater scooter. The tender itself is handled via a telescopic crane integrated into the roof and stored on the rear platform.

The YOT 53 is offered in two configurations: a “owner” version with three cabins (including a suite at the front), or a four-cabin version, in which the suite is replaced by two separate cabins. In both cases, access to the forward cockpit is maintained, and each cabin has its own bathroom and separate toilet.

Engine, Autonomy, and Integrated Production

The YOT 53 can be equipped with two Yanmar engines of 440 or 550 horsepower, mounted in a shaft line configuration. This allows for efficient power transmission without vibration, with cruising speeds between 15 and 18 knots and top speeds around 23 knots. A lithium pack is offered as an option: it allows the main electrical equipment, including air conditioning, to be powered without the need for a generator, a significant advantage for preserving silence at anchor.

The construction of the YOT 53 is centralized in a new, ultra-modern factory located in Aveiro, Portugal, entirely dedicated to the production of YOT models. This site allows the company to meet the growing demand, with streamlined production and industrial expertise stemming from forty years of experience in multihulls. The brand, distributed internationally, is now established as a leading player in the power catamaran segment.

With the YOT 53, Catana Group confirms its desire to explore new avenues in the world of motor yachts, focusing on the stability of the multihull and onboard comfort, without excess. Neither a classic production boat nor an ostentatious yacht, this model charts its own course: one of more open, more livable navigation, resolutely designed to enjoy every moment at sea.
